As society evolves and imposes changes in our lives, we find ourselves faced with many challenges. One of the toughest challenges that we Iraqis have faced is being torn from our homes, our families and those individuals most dear and near to us. Relocating is never easy and it is even harder when it is done by force. For nearly 20 years now, Iraqis have experienced a less than fair environment that has resulted in millions of people resettling in various parts of the world. Aside from the love, passion and devotion that we all feel for Iraq, the only other component that we all have in common and share is the advancing world of technology. And that is where the inspiration for the birth of IamIraqi started.
After many sleepless nights and an unimaginable amount of tireless efforts, IamIraqi was finally launched in early 2005. At the time, the site lacked many of the functions and qualities required to attract members, but the most vital mission had been completed. The site had endless potential; it was only a matter of time before the envisioned goals could be implemented. The development of the site continued and currently features a community forum, image upload, a photo gallery, and IamIraqi e-mail. Our very own and unique voice chat has always been a goal of the creators of IamIraqi. Over the years we have faced a few delays due to various reasons. On August 2, 2008, we successfully launched a third party voice chat application. This third party voice chat is temporary and not the development of IamIraqi. It is still the plan of the administration to create and launch a video/voice chat that will serve as a base for reuniting friends both old and new.
IamIraqi is a non-profit community committed to connecting Iraqis via the Internet. IamIraqi's mission is to provide a warm, safe and pleasant haven for Iraqis residing all across the globe. Though we are a small community, the one character trait that we do not lack is uniqueness. Regardless of ethnic background, religious affiliation or social status, we are a tight knit community that radiates beauty, talent, humor, compassion and dedication. Our family is comprised of students, homemakers, entrepreneurs, and professionals. It is because of the commitment and loyalty of IamIraqi members that the site has flourished and continues to grow. By working together and supporting one another through our path in life, we will ensure not only positive personal growth, but also growth as Iraqis and as a community site.
Peace and Blessings,

Nada's Bio: I am the newest member to the IamIraqi staff; almost a year under my belt. My experience as an Administrator has been extraordinary. I have had the pleasure of meeting Iraqis from all over the world. Being a member of the forum has been more than a social experience, it has been a terrific learning experience.
I am 26 years old and currently reside in Hamburg, New York. I was born in beautiful Basra. Though I have lived most of my life in the United States, I hold my Iraqi roots very close to my heart. I have spent the majority of my young adulthood paving the path to my future. I currently have a B.S. in Accounting and Finance and a minor in Psychology. I am a Certified Public Accountant specializing in corporate accounting and taxes. Business was not my first career choice, but I am satisfied with the decision that I made.
My hobbies and interests include an array of things. I love to travel and wish that I had more time to devote to seeing the world. I also enjoy gardening, sewing, reading and listening to music. In my spare time I like to experiment and test my culinary skills; I have a passion for cooking as I feel that the love in every home starts in the kitchen. Like most people I have many goals and dreams for the future. I do not believe that any dream is unachievable. The future is inevitable and anything is possible.
